Meet The Guidance Counselor at KMS

Mrs. Moore is a graduate of Northern Michigan University and has worked in the educational field for a total of fourteen years. She began her career as an elementary teacher where she has experience teaching at the third, fourth, and fifth grader levels. Early in her teaching career, she enrolled in the School Guidance Counseling Program at NMU to persue a Master's of Arts Degree in Education, Counseling. When she obtained her degree in 2002, her goal was to become involved in a couseling role at some point in her career. Mrs. Moore is now starting her third year in the Counseling Office here at KMS and is very excited to have the opportunity to work with the students at KMS. She has always been passionate about teaching and looks forward to helping all students find their own individual path of success during this pivotal phase in their personal, social, and academic development.
She is available via email, phone, or appointment. Parents are encouraged to contact Mrs. Moore with any questions or concerns regarding their child's academic, social, and/or personal well being. She is here to work hand in hand with parents to help ensure a positive middle school experience for each and every student. Together we can accomplish so much more! |

How Does A Student See The Counselor? |
Students may see the counselor for small group and individual counseling to assist with a variety of concerns and problems including:
* Friendship issues / bullying * Problem solving / conflict resolution * Academic concerns * Grief and loss / divorce * Crisis intervention * Social / emotional issues |
Students can see the counselor in any of the following ways:
* Self-referral * Requests of the counselor * Parent referral * Administrative referral * Teacher or staff referral * Referral by friend(s) |
