Michigan Student Service Award
"We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give."
The Michigan Student Service Award (MSSA) program is a way of recognizing high school graduates who volunteer 400+ to benefit their community, through service and volunteerism, during the course of their high school career. As soon as a student graduates middle school, they can begin earning hours toward the MSSA program. Upon graduation, those reaching the 400+ goal along with the completion of a reflective essay will receive an engraved medallion of distinction and a Certificate of Distinction for Commitment to Service signed by the Govenor of the State of Michigan during their graduation cermony. The overall goal and hope of this program is that volunteering becomes a way of life which in turn makes the communinty that we all live a better place!
